Sara Wood

Sara Wood started at GPS in August of 2017 as the Assistant to the Middle School Head. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from Agnes Scott College. Prior to moving to Chattanooga, Sara was a Certified Child LIfe Specialist who focused on helping children understand and cope with their hospitalization and illness. She worked primarily with children who had solid tumor cancers and who were undergoing bone marrow transplants. Sara had the great fortune of being published twice—once regarding psychosocial issues during bone marrow transplantation and then regarding child life in alternative settings (specifically bereavement). Since being at GPS, Sara has taken on numerous roles including adding the title of Learning Management Administrator. Sara is respected as an action-oriented colleague who brings empathy and kindness to all constituents.
