Marci Waldorf started at GPS in January of 2022 as a Learning Specialist in the Upper School Learning Center and moved into the Upper School counseling office beginning in August 2022, when she completed her master's in counseling. After teaching high school English for 10 years, Marci took the opportunity of her family's move to Chattanooga to fulfill her dream of pursuing a degree in counseling. After teaching in all-girls environments, Marci knew when she started her master's program that her dream job was to help support the upper school girls at GPS. Marci's role includes individual counseling, supportive check-ins for all students new to the upper school, developing and implementing an upper school social-emotional learning program, and teaching the eighth grade wellness class. Over her time at GPS, Marci has particularly enjoyed creating a safe space for students to enjoy growing and developing relationships with all students, and working with faculty, staff, and families to support each girl in the best way possible. Marci is also excited to be a parent of a GPS student starting in 2025!
