Katye Adams Couch '92

Katye Couch brings a genuine passion for learner-centered education to her role as the Dean of Teaching and Learning. Having experienced the transformative impact of a GPS education firsthand, as both a former student and as a parent of a recent graduate from the class of 2024, she is committed to fostering a student love of learning. In her capacity, she collaborates with faculty to cultivate a learner-centered culture of continuous growth and innovation. Drawing from over two decades of experience, including coordinating the Tucker River Fellows program and mentoring students in various science disciplines and clubs, she is dedicated to empowering students through education. Her favorite aspects of her work include connecting with students to foster their interest and confidence in science, collaborating with colleagues to innovate and grow, and staying updated on innovations in science and education as well as potential interdisciplinary connections. She also enjoys learning from others in every discipline and sharing her expertise at conferences. Outside of her professional endeavors, she has been involved in environmental advocacy, contributing to organizations such as The Nature Conservancy and serving on the board of the North Chickamauga Creek Conservancy.
