After GPS, Ameera Bhatti headed to the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, where she majored in economics with a concentration in international business at the Haslam School of Business. While attending UTK, Ameera was accepted to a selective 27-person business honors cohort, the Greg and Lisa Smith Global Leadership Scholars (GLS), and served as a lead ambassador and student administrative assistant for the business school, an undergraduate student senator, and the vice president of finance and senior advisor for the Kappa Alpha Pi pre-law and government fraternity. She was awarded co-class leader for GLS and also received the Volunteer of Distinction for Professional Promise award in her graduating class. Today, Ameera works as an associate Washington representative for the Tennessee Valley Authority’s Federal Affairs team, providing project and issue support, facilitating external correspondence with Members of Congress and the Biden Administration Climate Policy Office, and monitoring hearings and legislation related to environmental, energy, and economic development policy that would impact TVA. In her free time, Ameera enjoys baking, reading, catching up on the news, running and pilates, and writing poetry.
