Margy Oehmig ’72 Awarded Volunteer of the Year at United Way of Greater Chattanooga’s Celebrate Awards
On April 17, Margy Oehmig ’72 was awarded the Volunteer of the Year Award at the fifth annual Celebrate Awards, hosted by United Way of Chattanooga. The celebration is an annual event honoring the remarkable efforts of local nonprofits and volunteers who make our community a better place for all.
Margy was recognized for her continued work with Metropolitan Ministries, whose mission is to support the Chattanooga community through social services, which includes everything from emergency financial assistance to housing services, nutritional services, and more.
The United Way said about Margy, "For over a decade, Margy has given her time, talents, and heart to Metropolitan Ministries, raising over a million dollars, guiding strategy, and showing up with humility, grace, and compassion for neighbors in need."
