GPS Sophomore Maud Fiorello ’27 Selected for Inaugural TSSAA Student Advisory Committee

Girls Preparatory School is proud to announce that Maud Fiorello ’27 has been selected as a member of the inaugural TSSAA Student Advisory Committee (TSAC)—and is the only student representing Chattanooga on this distinguished panel.

Launched this year by the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association (TSSAA), the Student Advisory Committee is composed of 20 student leaders from across the state who will serve as ambassadors for their peers and the TSSAA. Members are selected based on strong leadership, character, academic achievement, and a demonstrated commitment to sportsmanship and school involvement.

Since joining the GPS community as a freshman, Maud has been a standout member of the GPS community, balancing academics and cocurricular involvement with remarkable dedication. She is a two-sport athlete, competing on both the Varsity Climbing Team and the Varsity Tennis Team, and is also involved in Model United Nations; this fall, she will serve as Chair of the Social, Humanitarian, and Cultural Issues Committee at ALTMUN, the Chattanooga-based Model UN conference. In addition, she leads the GPS MCR Foundation Club and is a member of the GPS chapter of the National Honor Society.

As a member of the TSAC, Maud will help provide valuable student insight into TSSAA governance, offer input on current issues facing student-athletes, and contribute to special initiatives that promote positive student engagement. Topics may include mental health, bullying prevention, sports medicine awareness, and community appreciation campaigns such as Officials Appreciation and RefReps.

Throughout the year, Maud will attend both in-person and virtual meetings with student leaders from East, Middle, and West Tennessee to share ideas and help shape the future of interscholastic athletics in the state.
