Emily K. Tousek '01 is thrilled to be teaching choral music at her alma mater! Prior to returning to GPS, she taught choral music, piano, and International Baccalaureate Music in the Orlando, Florida, area. Her choir classes focus on healthy, age appropriate technique through a wide variety of literature and performance opportunities. Recent performances by the GPS choirs under her direction include a Carnegie Hall Residency to perform Carol Barnett's "Blue Grass Mass" as well as collaborations with the Chattanooga Symphony Orchestra and Chattanooga Ballet for "The Nutcracker." In addition to choral music, Emily also maintains an active piano and voice studio through the Cadek Conservatory at GPS, where she serves as the Director. Her musical mentors include conductors Stanley Roberts (Georgia), Jamie Meadors (London, England), and Angie Batey (Tennessee) as well as vocal instructors Penny Tullock (Tennessee), Martha Malone (Georgia), and Lorraine DiSimone (New York City).
