Sonya Steele has been an esteemed member of the GPS faculty since 2002, where she has made significant contributions to both middle and upper school science education. Primarily instructing 10th-grade chemistry, Sonya also brings her expertise to courses such as forensic science, neuroscience, global topics, marine science, and Honors Chemistry. Sonya holds a BS in biology from the University of Montevallo and a master's degree in education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. Before joining GPS, she accumulated three years of valuable experience in the chemistry research industry at Alco Chemical, where she earned three patents related to applications utilizing high molecular weight polymers.
