Andy Arick

Andy Arick started at GPS in August of 2019 as a member of the English faculty. He holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in English from The University of Tennessee at Knoxville, as well as a Master of Arts degree in English Literature from Auburn University. In 2023, Andy took on a new role as the inaugural Dean of Girls Leadership and Outdoor Education. In this role, Andy teaches middle school Outdoor Leadership courses, coaches the climbing team, and leads students on various outdoor excursions to various trails, rivers, climbing walls, and national parks across the country. In addition to developing a love of the outdoors, Andy instills confidence in students to be authentic leaders. Whether discussing a novel or learning to rappel, Andy’s classes are known for creating a welcoming class culture where students feel safe to share their ideas while challenging themselves and each other.
