Dr. Brandon Guernsey holds a PhD in French literature from the University of Virginia, and prior to joining the GPS community, taught French language courses at St. Mary’s College of Maryland and at Hope College, his undergraduate alma mater. In addition to his academic background, he also spent three years serving as a volunteer with the US Peace Corps in the West African nation of Mauritania. Recognizing the importance of fostering intercultural understanding, Dr. Guernsey challenges students to broaden the horizons of their worldview and is deeply invested in preparing them for lives as global citizens. At GPS, he teaches French language and culture courses at all levels, sponsors Model United Nations, and serves as Dean of the Sophomore Class.
