Dr. Jeannie Long is a National Board Certified teacher (NBCT) who has extensive experience teaching biology and environmental science courses at the high school and college level.  She currently teaches Biology and Honors Biology in addition to working with the GPS Science Club.  Dr. Long is a Presidential Awards for Excellence in Mathematics and Science Teaching (PAEMST) recipient and currently serves on the PAEMST national selection committee and as the PAEMST Alumni Representative for Tennessee.  She is a Howard Hughes Institute (HHMI) BioInteractive Ambassador and routinely presents at conferences to share her expertise with other educators.  Dr. Long’s research in environmental science focuses on impacts of land use types on stream ecosystems.  Her research in science education focuses on empowering students to engage in environmental field research to positively impact their communities.
