Several donors already make contributions to GPS through monthly or quarterly credit or electronic bank draft payments. The Bruiser Plan provides a convenient and effortless method for spreading payment of your gift over a year or longer. Some donors, especially young alumnae and leadership donors, have seized the opportunity of the Bruiser Plan and have joined a gift club by paying their pledge throughout the fiscal year.

The Annual Fund is a tax-deductible way to support your school. Many corporations offer matching gift programs for their employees and their families. Click here to see if you qualify. Most programs match dollar for dollar, but there are some companies that match 2:1 and even 3:1. This is a great opportunity and allows you and your class to be credited with the matching gift.

Donating gifts of appreciated securities that have been held for more than one year enables a donor to:
- avoid all capital gains tax on the appreciated portion of the stock
- qualify for tax deduction equal to the stock's full fair market value
- make a larger gift than might be otherwise possible

You can also send or deliver to GPS, the stock certificate(s) and a signed stock power in separate envelopes. For security purposes do not mail them together.
Notes of Caution
All securities must be placed in GPS's name prior to being sold; otherwise, you will be responsible for paying the capital gains tax. Also, please be sure to instruct your broker to contact Bess Steverson in the Alumnae and Development Office at 423-634-7616 to let us know that your gift is being transferred so we can correctly match the donor to the stock.
