Sixth Grade Curriculum
Sixth grade students take English 6, Math 6, Global Cultures, Science 6, and Shape 6 four days a week all year. Sixth graders receive an introduction to the fine arts in an exploratory course called Fine Arts 6 which meets three days a week all year. Instrumental music courses are also available for interested students. In addition to these courses, sixth graders take Intro to Technology 6 two days a week all year, Skills 6 one day a week all year and Learning Center one day a week during the first semester.
Seventh Grade Curriculum
Seventh grade students take English 7 (regular or honors), Science 7, American Studies, and Pre-Algebra (regular or honors) four days a week all year. They begin their study of language (Chinese, French, Latin or Spanish) in classes which meet three days a week all year. Their fine arts courses include Art, Theater Arts, Dance and Music Appreciation. Instrumental music courses, as well as a coordinate choir class (by audition), are available for interested students. Additionally, seventh grade students take Intro to Technology 7 and Shape 7 two days a week all year.
Eighth Grade Curriculum
Eighth grade students take English (regular or honors), Math (Integrated or Accelerated Algebra I), Science (regular or honors), Ancient Civilizations (regular or honors), and their language (Chinese I-8, French I-8, Latin I-8 or Spanish I-8) four days a week all year. Students take The Hebrew Text two days per week for one semester, Shape 8 two days all year and Changes and Choices one day a week all year. Additionally, eighth grade students take one Fine Arts course all year and one Fine Arts or Computer Science course each semester. These classes meet two days per week.
